Last year was full of new experiences for me. I made the life-changing decision to retire after 32 years in education, the last twenty in community college administration. My health was fragile, my husband was retired and heading to Mexico for the winter (a life-long dream of his), and I was going to be left behind to deal with a very stressful job and poor health. It was almost a no-brainer. But as easy as it seems to you, the decision was one that took a lot of thought on my part. I had to take into consideration the reduction in income and lack of health insurance. Those were my biggest concerns. But that’s neither here nor there. My real story begins when I got to Mexico with my husband. We had no plan. Now that alone was far beyond my comfort zone. But at this point I was just riding along. We flew down to one of the major resort towns and spent a couple of weeks enjoying resort living. Then we bought a bus ticket to a small town about three hours south. We had never been there and knew little about it, but had been told it was a beautiful little fishing village with a small community of gringos and we should check it out. It was the best decision we ever made! I know, I know, what is the relevance to satellite TV, right? I'm getting there. A long story made short, we ended up staying for almost six months. We found a house to rent up on the montana that overlooked the bay. We made some wonderful friends, both gringos and Mexicans, and we got involved in the community. We purchased some beach property (with the help of a Mexican citizen) and we enjoyed a winter in a warm, dry, beautiful climate. We like to refer to it as our little piece of "paradise". But there was one downfall---communication, or lack thereof. We quickly found out about Skype, and were able to set up an account to call our five children and 13 grandchildren on a regular basis. That helped me get my grandkids fix. At least talking with them was better than no communication at all. But we had no communciation with the rest of the world. All the papers and magazines were written in Spanish, of which we know little. I learned enough Spanish to be able to ask where something could be found, but not enough to understand the answer. We had no television. Signing up for cable TV was expensive and required a long-term contract. We didn't even own a television. We had no transportation to go shopping in a city that might carry them. The village we were in had no stores other than for groceries. I did, however, have my computer, and everyday I wished I could turn it into a TV. I hungered for my favorite shows, but most of all I just wanted to watch the news. When I got home and was just surfing the Net one day, I ran across this website (here's where you can go directly to the link again if you're getting tired of reading my story). What a fantastic idea! Oh, I so wished I had found this ealier! This winter when we go to Mexico, we will have 3,000 stations to choose from on our PC, and we'll get our local news! Plus, we'll be able to keep up on our favorite shows. No more spending the evenings playing cribbage. If for whatever reason you want/need to use your personal computer as a television, this is exactly what you've been looking for. I am so pleased to be able to assist you in making that happen! Take a look at this.... Benefits Include:
Sincerely,
Doris Johnson
